Terms and Conditions
These terms explain how we work, in plain English. They apply to all work we do for you, alongside the price we give you. Nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer.
1. About us
Ultra Clean Exteriors is a family run exterior cleaning business based in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, run by Josh. You can reach us on 07876 645746 or at [email protected].
2. Prices and quotes
Window cleaning has published prices for standard properties, confirmed with you before your first clean. If your property is significantly different from the description, we will agree any change with you before we start.
Other work is priced for the job. Tell us what you need and we will give you a price. If we need to see something first, we will ask for a couple of photos.
A price given from photos is an estimate based on what the photos show. If, when we arrive, the job is significantly different (more area, harder access, or a condition the photos did not show), we will explain before starting and agree a new price with you. We will never add to the price afterwards without your agreement.
Roof cleaning is quoted after a free site survey. Photos only give a rough idea.
Quotes are free and valid for 30 days.
3. Regular window cleaning
Regular cleans are every 4 or 8 weeks, and include the glass, frames, sills and the front and back doors on the outside of the property. We do not clean inside. You do not need to be at home.
Visits follow a round, so the exact day can move a little from one clean to the next. We send a text the evening before. You can change how often we come by letting us know.
4. Access to your property
Please make sure we can reach the areas to be cleaned: side gates unlocked, pets kept inside, and cars or other things moved where they block access. We close gates behind us and leave things as we found them.
Locked gates and areas we cannot reach. If we cannot get to part of the property on the day, for example the back because a gate is locked, we will clean what we can reasonably reach and let you know. You pay a reduced amount for what we cleaned, not the full price, and there is no fee for a missed visit. If access is a problem again and again, we may pause your cleans until we can sort it out with you.
5. Weather and rescheduling
Pure water window cleaning carries on in light rain, which does not affect the finish. We move visits in high winds, heavy rain, ice, or whenever conditions make the work unsafe or would spoil the result. If we move a visit, we will tell you. There is never a charge for a visit moved because of the weather.
6. Skipping a clean or cancelling
Regular cleans: you can skip a clean, pause, or cancel altogether at any time. Just tell us, ideally before the next visit. There is no fixed term and no cancellation fee. Work already done before you cancel is still payable.
One off work: if you need to cancel or move the date, please tell us as early as you can. As a consumer you have 14 days from agreeing to the work to cancel it. If you ask us to do the work within those 14 days and then cancel, we may charge for any work already done.
7. Payment
We take direct debit, bank transfer and card. Regular cleans are paid after each visit, by direct debit where you have set one up. One off work is paid on completion unless we agree otherwise. Payment terms for commercial work are agreed with the quote.
8. Late payment
If a payment is late we will remind you. If it stays unpaid we may pause further visits until it is settled. For commercial customers, we may charge interest and compensation on overdue invoices as allowed by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
9. Price changes
We will give you at least 14 days’ notice before any increase in the price of your regular clean takes effect, so you have the chance to stop if you do not want to carry on. A price we have agreed for one off work does not change once agreed, unless the job turns out to be significantly different, as explained in section 2.
10. One off exterior cleaning
Gutter clearance, fascia and soffit cleaning, driveway and patio cleaning and roof cleaning are done as separate jobs. Cleaning improves a surface; it does not replace it. Very weathered UPVC, permanently stained paving, and tiles that have lost their surface coating will improve but may not look new. If we expect that, we will tell you before we start. For driveways and patios we may need an outside tap, which we will check with you beforehand.
11. Problems we find on the day
Sometimes a job turns out different from what anyone could see beforehand: a blocked downpipe that cannot be cleared from the ground, a fault hidden under moss, or access that is harder than expected. If that happens, we will stop, explain, and agree with you what to do before doing anything that changes the price.
12. Your property and existing defects
We take care of your property. If we notice a problem while we work, such as a slipped tile, a leaking gutter joint, a cracked pane or a failed window seal, we will tell you. We are cleaners, not roofers or builders, so we cannot inspect or vouch for the condition of a roof, gutters, windows or brickwork, and repairs are a job for a suitable tradesperson.
We are not responsible for defects that were there before we arrived, such as failed window seals, loose or cracked tiles, perished sealant, damaged pointing or faulty guttering, or for damage that happens because of them.
13. If something goes wrong
If we damage something, we will put it right. Please tell us as soon as you notice, so we can come and look. We hold £5 million public liability insurance and can show you the certificate. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
If you are not happy with any part of the work, call 07876 645746 and we will talk it through and sort it out with you.
14. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
